耶稣基督的家谱（路3·23-38）　
　　耶稣的家谱如下∶
　　耶稣基督是大卫的后代，大卫是亚伯拉罕的后代。
　　亚伯拉罕生以撒，以撒生雅各，雅各生犹大和他的兄弟。犹大跟塔玛生法勒斯和谢拉，法勒斯生希斯仑，希斯仑生亚兰，亚兰生亚米拿达，亚米拿达生拿顺，拿顺生撒门，撒门跟喇合生波阿斯，波阿斯跟路得生俄备得，俄备得生耶西，耶西生大卫王。
　　大卫跟乌利亚的妻子生所罗门，所罗门生罗波安，罗波安生亚比雅，亚比雅生亚撒，亚撒生约沙法，约沙法生约兰，约兰生乌西雅，乌西雅生约坦，约坦生亚哈斯，亚哈斯生希西家，希西家生玛拿西，玛拿西生亚们，亚们生约西亚。以色列族被掳到巴比伦期间，约西亚生约雅斤和他的兄弟。
　　被掳到巴比伦以后，约雅斤生撒拉铁，撒拉铁生所罗巴伯，所罗巴伯生亚比玉，亚比玉生以利亚敬，以利亚敬生亚所，亚所生撒督，撒督生亚金，亚金生以律，以律生以利亚撒，以利亚撒生马但，马但生雅各，雅各生约瑟，就是马利亚的丈夫。那被称为基督的耶稣是从马利亚生的。
　　这样算起来，从亚伯拉罕到大卫共十四代，从大卫到以色列人被掳到巴比伦也是十四代，从被掳到基督的诞生又是十四代。
　　耶稣基督的诞生（路2·1-7）　
　　耶稣基督诞生的经过是这样的∶他的母亲马利亚已经跟约瑟订了婚，但是在成婚以前，马利亚知道自己已经由圣灵怀了孕。她的未婚夫约瑟为人正直，但又不愿意公开羞辱她，却有意要秘密解除婚约。他正在考虑这事，主的天使在梦中向他显现，说∶“大卫的后代约瑟，不要怕，尽管娶马利亚作妻子，因为她怀的孕是由圣灵来的。她将要生一个儿子，你要给他取名叫耶稣，因为他将拯救他的子民脱离他们的罪。”
　　这一切事的发生是要应验主藉着先知所说的话∶“有童女将怀孕生子，他的名字要叫以马内利。”（“以马内利”的意思就是“上帝与我们同在”。）
　　约瑟一醒过来，就照着主的天使所吩咐的去做，跟马利亚成婚；但是在她生孩子以前没有跟她同房。孩子出生，约瑟就给他取名叫耶稣。

　　The Ancestors of Jesus Christ
(Luke 3.23-38)　
　　This is the list of the ancestors of Jesus Christ, a descendant of David, who was a descendant of Abraham.
　　From Abraham to King David, the following ancestors are listed: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Judah and his brothers; then Perez and Zerah (their mother was Tamar), Hezron, Ram, Amminadab, Nahshon, Salmon, Boaz (his mother was Rahab), Obed (his mother was Ruth), Jesse, and King David.
　　From David to the time when the people of Israel were taken into exile in Babylon, the following ancestors are listed: David, Solomon (his mother was the woman who had been Uriah's wife), Rehoboam, Abijah, Asa, Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, Manasseh, Amon, Josiah, and Jehoiachin and his brothers.[注解]　
　　From the time after the exile in Babylon to the birth of Jesus, the following ancestors are listed: Jehoiachin, Shealtiel, Zerubbabel, Abiud, Eliakim, Azor, Zadok, Achim, Eliud, Eleazar, Matthan, Jacob, and Joseph, who married Mary, the mother of Jesus, who was called the Messiah.
　　So then, there were fourteen generations from Abraham to David, and fourteen from David to the exile in Babylon, and fourteen from then to the birth of the Messiah.
　　The Birth of Jesus Christ
(Luke 2.1-7)　
　　This was how the birth of Jesus Christ took place. His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they were married, she found out that she was going to have a baby by the Holy Spirit. [注解]　Joseph was a man who always did what was right, but he did not want to disgrace Mary publicly; so he made plans to break the engagement privately. While he was thinking about this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, "Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary to be your wife. For it is by the Holy Spirit that she has conceived. She will have a son, and you will name him Jesus-because he will save his people from their sins."[注解]　
　　Now all this happened in order to make come true what the Lord had said through the prophet, "A virgin will become pregnant and have a son, and he will be called Immanuel" (which means, "God is with us").[注解]　
　　So when Joseph woke up, he married Mary, as the angel of the Lord had told him to. But he had no sexual relations with her before she gave birth to her son. And Joseph named him Jesus.[注解]
