介绍（英）	This brisé fan, with painted and gilded ivory leaves, features several unique appliqués. At the top of the guard to the right is a small enamel and metal plaque with the name “Norma” etched in script, perhaps in reference to the fan’s original owner. Lower down on the guard is a small jasperware cameo depicting the classical figure Fortitude. This type of cameo may have been made and sold by the Wedgwood factory, which specialized in classical-style potteries and ceramics. Fan makers could buy these cameos from Wedgwood and apply them to their higher-end wares, such as this piece.
