介绍（英）	Bashford Dean (1867–1928), founding curator of the Department of Arms and Armor, once owned this bronze medal. As part of his large private collection of arms and armor, Dean eagerly sought out and acquired works of art, which he called documents, if they included interesting depictions of armor and weapons, particularly rare or early types. In the case of this medal, Dean may have been attracted to it because of the subject, a king of France who owned many fine armors, or by the subtle combination of elements from both contemporary and Classical armor discernable in the medallic portrait of the king.
