介绍（英）	Forrest trained under George Lambert (1699/1700–1764) and took drawing lessons from Paul Sandby, but then followed his father into the law. As a solicitor for the Covent Garden Theatre he maintained close ties to the arts and exhibited annually as an amateur at the Royal Academy until a few years before his death (suffering from nervous depression, he committed suicide at the age of fifty-six). This rare drawing uses delicate colored washes to describe abundant summer foliage in a fenced park. Through an open gate tree trunks are glimpsed, planted in rows. Forrester remained close friends with both Paul and Thomas Sandby, sketching with them at home and on walking tours. His manner of working here resembles that of Paul, with the composition built from contrasting patches of light and shade. Greatest detail is developed at the center, with blocks of color around the edges left suggestively undefined.
