介绍（英）	This detailed boxwood relief pictures the sea god Neptune, identified by his three-pronged trident, straddling a dolphin swimming inland amid roiling waves. Other dolphins and sailing boats surround the group, while the composition as a whole is framed on both sides by peninsulas with landscapes fortified by castles and towers. Carvings like this were common in the collections of Northern European aristocracy and merchants, who collected virtuosic pieces that marked their good taste and understanding of art and craft.
