介绍（中）	Gérard出生于意大利，父亲是法国，母亲是意大利，在巴黎跟随雅克·路易斯·戴维学习。1790年父亲去世后，他与家人回到罗马，在那里一直呆到1791年。正是在这段时间里，他创作了这幅画，这幅画表现出他对主人的意大利风景的强烈感激这张纸首先用黑色粉笔画了草图，大概是在空气中绘制的，然后用灰色水洗，利用强烈的阳光和阴影对比，将不同的建筑融合成几何形式的拼贴。
介绍（英）	Born in Italy to a French father and an Italian mother, Gérard studied in Paris with Jacques Louis David. After the death of his father in 1790, he returned to Rome with his family, where he stayed until 1791. It was during this period that he must have made this drawing which exhibits a strong debt to the Italian landscapes of his master. Sketched first in black chalk, presumably en plein air, and then supplemented with gray wash, the sheet uses the strong contrasts of sun and shadow to meld the varied architecture into a collage of geometric forms.
