介绍（英）	This picture, showing Christ and his apostles beneath an arcade tooled into the gold background, is from the base (predella) of an unidentified altarpiece. The apostles are identified by their attributes (for example, Saint Peter with the keys of Heaven and James with his pilgrim’s staff). When this was painted, Taddeo di Bartolo was perhaps the most highly regarded Tuscan artist in Italy and had commissions from as far afield as Padua, Genoa, and Pisa. In his native Siena he was the preferred artist of the government, notably decorating their chapel in the Palazzo Pubblico.
