介绍（英）	The Chandayana was written by Mulla Da'ud in the fourteenth century, based on an ancient poem that recounted the romance of Laur and Chanda, their elopement, and ensuing adventures. The obstacles the lovers overcome to be together function as a metaphor for the sufi’s quest for union with God. This painting, from a manuscript made in the mid-sixteenth century, melds elements of Persian painting, particularly from Shiraz, with the Chaurapanchasika style of northern India.
